Today I am going to start with a little bit of Easter. I made a little Easter basket using the Big Shot and the Scallop Envelope Die. As a family we have never done a big Easter Basket for the kids, but I do usually do something small with some Easter candy for them. This year I decided to make these little baskets. They are so easy to make!
I Cut the envelopes in So Saffron. I then ran each envelope through the polka dot textures plate. Using the side tabs to adhere the box, and the bottom flap of the envelope is the bottom of the box. I like the extra texture that it gave the box. The handles are attached with a brad to the side of the box and covered with the Happy Easter tag. For the handle I cut a 1/2 inch strip of Old Olive card stock and covered the top with Old Olive Satin ribbon.
The next projects that I did were all with Sweet Pea Designer Paper. That pad of paper is such a deal it is only 24.95 for 48 sheets of paper! That is only 50 cents a sheet! It isn't thin bargain paper either it is the quality weight paper that we expect from Stampin' Up! Another great quality in this paper is the versatility!.You can make great guy projects with some of the papers. The colors and textures are perfect for Fathers Day, birthdays, etc. But also there is the fun designs with the trees, birds, and swirls, and then if you are into flowers and butterflies there is some of that as well. Some of the pages are designed in a way that they make a great scrapbook pages with out adding much of anything else. So like I said this paper totally delivers on versatility. Stampin' Up! did a great job on this pad of paper!
Here are 2 layouts that I did. The first one I used Old Olive card stock for the base and added the print at the bottom. The flower is one of the stripe prints from Sweet Pea cut with the Big Shot and the Daisy die. The center is a button that I made my self. I punched a little swirl from one of the sweet pea papers, and layered 5 So Saffron circles under it. I punched 2 little holes with the crop a dile and added the linen string. This flower would make a great accent on a card as well. The second page is from two sheets of Sweet Pea. The bird and flowers were on another page I cut them out and added them to this page with dimensionals.
Lastly I have a guy card from the Sweet Pea Collection. The medallion is from Vintage Labels in the Sale-a-bration brochure. The background is the Sanded background stamp.
