A Trophy and a Wheel

 

Another one of Kirk's sports is Go-Carting. Last fall was the go cart banquet where he was awarded 2nd place in his class. He was pretty proud of himself. When scrapping this picture I ran into the same challenge that many moms of boys do-how do I embellish this and keep it from being girly. I decided to try make a Go-Cart wheel. My center got a little off though. I punched a 2 3/4 inch circle from card stock and chipboard for the tire. I glued those together and then used my Crop a dile to put in the large eyelet for the wheel itself.

Next to him is his older but shorter sister and his little sister. What a cute bunch! 

A New Technique

This year was Kirks first year in football. He did such a good job. I wanted to embellish the page but keep it masculine. I took my 1" twill tape. I first printed   "Go Wildcats on a piece of paper. I then taped the twill on top of the print and then ran it through again. It worked like a charm! I now have Wildcat ribbon! I took a football from my sticker stash.

By the way the kids had a great season!

A Flowery Pair

  This is another idea I scraplifted. When I saw this layout I knew it would be perfect for this photo. Even though there is a 9 year difference between the girls they are very close. They have sleepovers in each others rooms and go to the mall together for sister days. Tricia will be moving out in a year and a half, Danika is going to miss her greatly.

I used Baha Breeze card stock and stamped with the Fresh Cuts Stamp set for the back ground. I used the flower stamp from the same set for the little flowers. I layered the little flowers with the 5 petal flower punch on white taffeta ribbon. A Scallop Punch Flower

This 6x6 page is totally scraplifted from the internet, unfortunately I don't have the name of the original artist. If that is you leave me a comment and I will make sure you get credit!

I was drawn to the elegance of this page. It was my oldest daughters first prom, and I wanted to get a picture of the sisters dressed up. The flower is made with 4 scallop circle punches folded. The button in the middle is actually a button from my stash. I didn't have any brown or tan buttons they were all brighter colors. So I decided to try an experiment. I took a blue button and my Chocolate Chip Pigment pad and rubbed the button in the pad until it was all covered with ink. I held the button with a tweezers and used my heat gun to set the ink. I love the way it turned out.The leaves are made with the small oval punch folded in half and put through the crimper I used the Baroque Motifs stamp set on the background.. . Love You Much Bundle

 Guess who took this picture-my 7 year old daughter! She received a camera for her birthday and talked her brother into going in her room for a "photo shoot" what a good sport!!! The picture turned out adorable but all her bedding in the back ground is bright pink and busy. Not exactly ideal for a 13 year old boy. By making the page black and white I eliminated all of the distractions and Kirk and Cinder became the stars of the picture. For the page I used pirouette pink and Riding Hood Red card stock with the stamp set from Love You Much Bundle. I stamped with versamark and embossed with white powder. Punched the hearts out with the 3 heart punch and the hugs and kisses stamp with the scallop punch. It made a simple but cute page. A Happy Little Penguin

I wanted to make a series of 6x6 scrapbook pages to put up in my craft room.My youngest daughter has an early Januaryy birthday. I wanted a page for her.  I also wanted to really make use of my punches. I love the Stampin' Up! punches!There is so much you can do with them. This little penguin guy I found on a blog. I thought he was so cute I had to give him a try. I also made the icicles on top of the page using Crystal effects. The snowflake was made with the Big Shot.
